शायद वो धुँधली सी एक शाम थी 

ख़ामोश चाय के प्यालों से बादलों का गुज़र जाना 

और दूर क्षितिज में, तेरी यादों का बिखड़ जाना 

तन्हा हो कर भी, तन्हाई से महरूम थे 

था कुछ ऐसा रिश्ता उस ख़ामोशी का सुकून से

Woke up feeling something is missing…

Searched my heart and my soul…

No trace of anything left…

Yet there’s a void somewhere…

Maybe something died inside

Or has it been dead for long?

Leaving an emptiness within

Which only now

I feel…

Head & Heart

Head throbbing
Consistently
In tandem
With my heartbeat

Rarely does my head
goes with my heart...

Broken

I leave behind
dragging my feet
inch by inch

Where once Hope
lived abundant
the heart now lies
broken

under the
moonless sky

More Than An Idea

I'm more than an idea of me..

I'm a possibility you could have chanced upon..

I'm a dream you woke up from

and waiting to fall asleep to dream again..

I'm your 'could-have-been'

and 'should-not-have-been'..

I'm a wish you still hold onto..

yet letting go with each moment..

I'm what you feel and think..

yet I'm more than your idea of me..

Laugh more, worry less
Trust more, doubt less
Do more, ponder less

Paint more, imagine less
Write more, think less
Create more, wonder less

Hope more, fear less

Be happy with me
Learn to live free

It's the same list all over again
My new year isn't so new then!

Diwali No More

Banana trees standing guard..
Lighted lamps glowing in the dark..
Smiles and laughter
Happiness and cheer

Under the moonless sky,
a family of five
gather for celebration

Those were the real Diwali...
It's just lights and crackers now...
nothing else!

It’s another day in the making
I am going back to your yesterday

I see you only in bits and pieces
Let me hold onto your yesterday

I am sinking in my nothingness

Temptation

When the foreplay
last longer
than the act

and the after-effects
felt for days on end

It's an affair
doomed
for failure

bringing down everything
you had build (till then)
on its way out

Dust

Dust of Time
falls on everything

the shelf of books
unread
the rack of shoes
worn-out
the table with stationery
disorganised

No dust settles
on the memories

Mind Games!

Dark red corners
Stimulating lanes
Playful alleys

When the mind
plays the game,
everything else
cease to
exist

Lost Spring

Dry clouds
No sign of rain

Summer overstayed
Monsoon delayed

My Spring
Lost in between

Parched Heart
Saturated Emotions
The former's pride
The stubborn latter

Monsoon of Love
lay waiting
